Bringing in the harvest

I have been painting away this summer, and now, with the fall equinox just around the corner, I'm happy to share the art that has emerged from that time. My haiga (paintings with haiku) are viewable in the Makino Studios gallery

This art is the basis for my fall collection of greeting cards. Examples are shown below, and you can view all 80 card designs here. I am currently offering 15% off when you order 6 or more cards with code 6CARDS.

Also, for the seventh year in a row, I have created a wall calendar featuring paintings of landscapes, animals and flowers combined with my original haiku. The 2020 mini-calendar of art and haiku is just off the press and I’m really happy with how it turned out. These make great holiday gifts!

For folks living in the Arcata, California area, I will have new paintings, signed prints, 2020 calendars and all my cards at my booth at the North Country Fair on the Plaza this weekend. Look for the Makino Studios booth on G Street. The fair runs Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., with parades both days at 1 p.m.

I offer special deals on cards and calendars for fair-goers, plus a free raffle for $40 in store credit. This is one of only two in-person events I am doing until next year, and I’d love to see you there. Happy autumn!
